About me

My name is Jodi and I lost my Graphic Design job during Covid and found myself unemployed.

I though, I'll search for work from home jobs and have work in no time! Nope, apparently scammers want to take money from unemployed folks like us (does not sound like a good (or good) business plan to me but what do I know).

They profit by trying to entice or scare us into signing up for the ability to view their job boards which are usually stocked with outdated or just common Google listings that you can view without them. We hate them. So, as I spent many many months trying to find jobs online I learned a lot, and I am here to share that knowledge with you and give you the site I wish I had when I started my job search. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means that I may earn a commission at no cost to you. These are legitimate sites and I will also show you how I found that out in "IS IT LEGIT?"

My first tip

Set up a Google email address just for job searching, because you'll get a lot of mail from job sites and maybe spammers and it's nice to have a way to separate them.

Just go to https://accounts.google.com and click on create account.

*Keep it professional, I use my fullname@gmail.com

Thanks for signing up!

Where to start

Google of course, but not everything

The main Google search is a free for all, but Google is smart and it helps you. See that light blue block there to the right? I've found those results to be legit and they come from many sources, some even come from your home town!

Sites you can trust

As I've searched, these are the sites I've used and checked out. I add to this list as I find more.
